While the Indian team lost the Test series against South Africa 2-1, they won the Test series against Sri Lanka 2-0. The Test series against England ended in a tie 2-2.

There were some players who performed brilliantly for India in Tests this year. However, there were also some players who failed to score well. 3. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is the first player on this list. KL is an opener for the team in Tests and T20Is. In ODIs, Shikhar Dhawan grabs his place as opener and KL takes the middle-order position. In 2022, KL Rahul was picked in only 2 Test matches in which he scored 80 runs in 4 innings at an average of 20.0.

He did not play any more Test games. Since KL Rahul already plays in ODIs and T20Is, he should be rested in Tests and a specialist opener should be given opportunities as an opener in the red-ball format. This will help the team to have a trustworthy and consistent opener in Tests.
