Bangladesh Appoint New Men’s Head Coach In Chandika Hathurusingha

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named Chandika Hathurusingha as Head Coach. Russel Domingo resigned from the post after India Tests without citing any reasons. Bangladesh showed a lot of promise but couldn’t win the 2nd Test match after being on the cusp of a great triumph against India.

This would be Chandika Hathurusingha’s second tenure in Bangladesh as earlier he served as the Coach from 2014 to 2017. Under his tenure, Bangladesh went to the Semi-Finals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Chandika resigned from the post of Assistant Coach in the New South Wales setup.

Chandika has been named Head Coach for a span of two years where the main focus would be on ODI WC 2023. Chandika Hathurusingha will have a strenuous task as Bangladesh’s next assignment is against England in March in Bangladesh as England is the only team that has won ODI Series since 2015. All eyes would be on Tamim Iqbal who had missed India’s leg due to an injury.
