England created history in Pakistan by winning the series with one match to spare to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The visitors beat the Men in Green by 26 runs in the second Test at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday, December 12. England captain Ben Stokes was shocked when Pakistan’s No. 11 batsman Mohammad Ali refused to shake hands with him.
Chasing 355 to win, Pakistan put up a brave fight but were bowled out for 328 in the second session on the fourth day of the match. It was their third home Test defeat in a row, following their loss to Australia earlier this year. Mark Wood took four wickets for 65 runs as England won their first series in Pakistan since 2000-01.

Watch: Mohammad Ali Refuses To Shake Hands With Ben Stokes
Pakistan collapsed from 210/5 to 319/9, and the victory was sealed when Mohammad Ali edged the ball to Ollie Pope off the bowling of Ollie Robinson. England captain Ben Stokes approached his opponent to shake hands, but Ali refused. Despite the edge, he had signalled for a DRS and mentioned the same to Stokes. The review was wasted, as replays showed an edge and confirmed England’s famous victory.

Pakistan needed 157 runs to win at the start of the day, while England needed six wickets. In the end, the latter prevailed, as Stokes praised the work he and his team had done.
“Obviously, different conditions and differently played games, but fantastic to be a part of both the games. We had a look at the wicket and it was tricky against slow bowling, but as the game progressed the cracks opened up and our seamers came into the game,” Ben Stokes said after the match

“The way in which Jimmy and Robbo bowled in the series and our spinners as well, they are going to deliver more often than not (referring to him not bowling). Amazing debut for Abrar and many congratulations to him. He took 7 wickets but we were still scoring runs against him. I just look around and look at my options and see who gives me the best opportunity to pick wickets,” he added.
