The auction will be held in Kochi and preparations are in full swing to welcome all the franchises. The auction will start at 12.30 pm IST and will run till the evening. Former SRH skipper Kane Williamson will be one of the major Kiwi players on the radar of multiple franchises.

Meanwhile, a total of 991 players, including 714 Indians and 277 overseas, registered for the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Now, the board BCCI has shortlisted the players and announced the IPL 2023 Player Auction list.

Initially, a total of 369 players were shortlisted by 10 teams from the initial list of 991 players. 36 additional players were requested by teams, which are added to the final list which makes a total of 405 players which will be presented at the IPL Auction 2023. Out of these, 19 players have kept themselves in the Rs. 2 crore bracket. There are 11 players who in the Rs. 1.5 crores bracket. There are 20 players in the bracket of Rs. 1 crore.

Among 405 cricketers, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players of which 4 players are from associate nations. Also, a total of 119 capped players, 282 uncapped players, and 4 associate nation players will be entering the IPL 2023 mini-auction. A maximum of 87 players can be acquired in the auction of which 30 can be overseas.

Talking about New Zealand cricketers, a total of 10 players will be a part of the IPL 2023 auction. Kane Williamson, former SRH skipper who was released by the franchise will go back into the auction and will be one of the major attractions among the Kiwi players. Kyle Jamieson too is among 10 Kiwi players who will come up for bidding in the auction.

A few big Kiwi names will be missing from the upcoming auction. The likes of Martin Guptill, Mark Chapman and Colin de Grandhomme will not be participating in the auction. Tim Seifert is another Kiwi player who will be skipping the auction.
