Hanuma Vihari, Despite Having A Damaged Wrist, Bats Left-handed And Holds Off Madhya Pradesh Bowlers

Hanuma Vihari, the captain of Andhra Pradesh, set a remarkable example of devotion to his team by stepping up to the plate despite having a fractured wrist on Wednesday during the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal match against Madhya Pradesh.

Vihari was struck by a ball from bowler Avesh Khan on Day 1 of the contest, and examinations subsequently showed that the outstanding batsman had fractured his wrist.

However, Vihari’s commitment to the squad was unaffected by the injury as he stepped out to bat following the loss of Prithvi Raj Yarra’s ninth wicket. Additionally, Vihari, a right-handed batter, batted with his left hand to preserve his wrist.

Up until last year, Hanuma Vihari was a crucial member of the Indian team, but he was demoted after Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel entered the lineup. India’s lineup for the forthcoming four-match Test series against Australia does not include the 29-year-old batsman.

Aditya Shrivastava, the captain of Madhya Pradesh, won the toss and chose to bowl at Indore for the match against Andhra in the quarterfinals. The Ranji Trophy’s current champions, Madhya Pradesh, will try to defend their crown. Meanwhile, Andhra has yet to win the coveted domestic championship.

In other matchups, Saurashtra faces Punjab in the second quarterfinal, while Jharkhand faces Bengal in the first. At Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Karnataka will play host to Uttarakhand in the third quarterfinal.
