IND vs AUS: “Jasprit Bumrah Ko Ab Bhool Jao….”

Indian Cricket Team would be crestfallen after a below-par performance in the 3rd Test Match. Australia won the match by 9 wickets and now has spiced up the BGT 2023 where they have a chance to square the Series. Jasprit Bumrah has been missing from the action since September 2022. It is reported that BCCI is targeting a comeback for Jasprit Bumrah directly into ODI WC 2023 in October.

Australia would be ecstatic with their performance where they displayed fighting spirit. It was a collective effort from the spinners as earlier in the 1st innings, the left-arm-off spinner Matthew Kuhnemann took a 5-wicket haul and created havoc as they bundled out India for 109.

Madan Lal on Jasprit Bumrah

Madan Lal was having an interaction with Sports Tak and was asked about the pacers for WTC 2021-23 final.

“They will take Umesh [to WTC final]. There you need at least 3 pacers to only one spinner might play and the rest will be fast bowlers. Bumrah ko ab bhool jao. Usko chhor dijiye aap (Forget Bumrah. Leave him out of the equation),” said Madan Lal.

“When Bumrah returns, we will see then. Use whatever you have. What is the guarantee? No wonder when he will return – maybe 1 to 1.5 years. He has not played in so long. It means his injury his very serious,” he added.

Madan Lal on Jasprit Bumrah’s injury

Madan Lal made it clear that the selection panel will have to be patient with Bumrah.

“At max, an injury takes 3 months to heal and he hasn’t played since September – even Hardik Pandya was able to return in 4 months post his back surgery – and Bumrah hasn’t played since 6 months. So how can you expect that this will be the same Bumrah that we have seen so far. It will take him time. If you want to see the same Bumrah, you will have to give him time,” said Madan Lal.

As mentioned by Madan Lal, Umesh Yadav can be an option if India qualifies for WTC 2021-23 final. Umesh Yadav has shown that he can be a lethal option with the old ball as we all witnessed how he took 3 wickets in the 1st innings and brought India back into the game.
