IND vs AUS: “No Need For Freebies To These Australians”

The appointment of Mahesh Pithiya by Cricket Australia to assist them in containing Ravichandran Ashwin in the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series has drawn criticism from former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan.

The Australian hitters have been encountering Pithiya in the nets prior to the Tests against India, and his bowling style is pretty similar to Ashwin’s.

A supporter posted on social media about how Pithiya outperformed himself in the nets and twice bowled and stumped out Australia’s great batsman Steve Smith. Additionally, he said that Pithiya had been specifically employed for this tour by Cricket Australia.

If CA would compensate Pithiya for his services, he was interested to find out. He was happy after receiving a favourable response and stated that there was no need to provide the tourists with freebies.

“That’s what I wanted to know. No need for freebies to these Australians,” wrote Laxman Sivaramakrishnan.

From 1983 through 1987, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan represented India in international cricket. The leg-break bowler competed for his country in 16 ODIs and nine Test matches.

He has worked as a coach and a pundit since retiring. He is now in the United Arab Emirates where he is a T20 International League analyst.

Both India and Australia have begun their separate training programmes in preparation for the crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

India has recently trounced Australia, and they will be eager to complete yet another Test series victory against the Australians. To win the series, they’ll want to capitalise on Ravichandran Ashwin’s skills and knowledge.

India also has a chance to secure a position in the ICC World Test Championship Final by winning the series by a score of 2-0, 3-1, 3-0, or 4-0. These results will guarantee India’s participation.
