IND vs NZ Live Score 1st T20I, India vs New Zealand Live Score, 1st T20I, 2023.

On Friday, the 27th of January, India will lock horns with New Zealand in the 1st T20I at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. New Zealand are on a tour of India and will play a 3-match T20I series.

Ranchi generally has been a batting-friendly surface over the years, expect a high-scoring game today. India will be playing a T20 series after hammering Sri Lanka in the T20 series, earlier this month.

India are coming into this series on the back of a whitewash, they were brilliant in the ODIs against a New Zealand team who had no answers. India will be without their two important players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. With Jasprit Bumrah still missing with an injury, Hardik Pandya will again have a young seam bowling unit to lead in the series.

However, despite the key players’ absence, team India looks rock-solid, studded with the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh.

It will also be interesting to see if Prithvi Shaw makes his much-awaited international comeback in the very first game. He will fight a virtual contest with Gill, Ishan, and Ruturaj Gaikwad for an opening slot in the playing XI.

This series will also give much-needed opportunities to Rahul Tripathi and Deepak Hooda to upgrade their status from fringe players to regulars in the shortest format.

New Zealand

After being whitewashed 3-0 in the ODIs, New Zealand will lock horns with India to get back into winning ways. The match is scheduled at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. The visitors will look to forget what happened in the ODI series and start the T20Is with a fresh approach. New Zealand will miss their main bowlers in Tim Southee and Trent Boult.

The responsibility will be on their batting unit comprising Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, and the sensational Michael Bracewell. It will also be a test for Mitchell Santner, who, besides batting and bowling, will have the additional responsibility of leadership.

Lockie Ferguson, who is below par in the ODIs, must perform as the leader of the bowling attack, by not only putting up impressive performances but also guiding the young guns like Henry Shipley, Jacob Duffy, and Blair Tickner.
