Mickey Arthur is allegedly on the cusp of resuming his role as head coach of Pakistan’s cricket team. The management committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is anticipated to finalise the deal with Arthur within the next two weeks.

Although, Arthur will be mostly instructing online until this year’s ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which will be held in India. Arthur has reportedly told the PCB that he will be ready to join the squad in India for the 50-over mega event this year.

Meanwhile, he will continue to coach Derbyshire County Cricket Club on a full-time basis.

Mickey Arthur To Recommend Batting And Bowling Coaches

The former coach’s contract with the PCB is anticipated to be one-of-a-kind, as the management committee, led by Najam Sethi, wishes to retain his services due to his track record with the national squad.

Arthur, who is originally from South Africa, was Pakistan’s head coach from 2016 until 2019. In his function, he is supposed to recommend batting and bowling coaches, as well as select an assistant who will be available to the players on the field in his absence. Despite this, Arthur will be in frequent communication with the team, offering advice and assistance over the internet.
