Neil Killeen Named England Men's Elite Fast Bowling Coach

England Cricket Board (ECB) has appointed Neil Killen as the new fast-bowling coach of the men’s cricket team. Earlier Jon Lewis was the fast bowling coach where he left the post in November after being named the Head Coach of the Women’s Cricket Team.

Neil Killen was a part of his home county Durham for a span of 30 years. He also worked with England’s national team during the tour of the Netherlands in 2022. The Cricketer has played over 350 matches for Durham County Club and was an integral part of the setup.

Neil Killen on Appointment

Neil Killen was having an interaction with media and was asked about the role. “I’m delighted to be appointed Elite Pace Bowling Coach with the ECB and can’t wait to get started with a new challenge. It’s an exciting time to be joining the ECB, as there is a wealth of fast-bowling talent and coaching around the country that I’m looking forward to working with in order to maintain England’s strong contingent of pace bowlers in the future,” said Neil Killen.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at Durham for the continued support both as a player and a coach over the last 30 years, it has been a great journey. A big thank you also to all the members for their continued support throughout my career. I look forward to returning and watching alongside them in the future. It has been an honour to represent the club and I would like to wish them continued success for the future,” he added.

Crucial Phase for England

The England Cricket Team is on a roll after white-washing Pakistan by 3-0 in Test Series where they were quite ruthless. It won’t be wrong to say the duo Ben Stokes & Brendon McCullum have revolutionized Test Cricket with their attacking brand of cricket.

England’s next challenge is against New Zealand where they are going to play the 2 Test Match series in February. These Tests are not a part of the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23). The Black Caps would be eyeing revenge as earlier in 2022 they lost the Test Series by 3-0.
