“There Should Be No VIP Movement To Meet Rishabh Pant”

[ad_1]

Indian Cricket Team’s destructive wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant had a dreadful accident on 30th December (Friday). The batter was in his Mercedes SUV heading back to his hometown Roorkee where his car crashed into the divider. Pant has got cuts on his forehead, and injuries on his knee & wrist.

The left-handed batter was rescued by a Haryana Roadways Driver & Conductor. Pant isn’t a part of Sri Lanka’s white ball leg. It is assumed that the cricketer would be out for a long period of time as he might need to undergo quite a few surgeries to get back to normal.

DDCA On Rishabh Pant

DDCA Director Shyam Sharma was having an interaction with ANI and was asked about Rishabh Pant. “Those who are going to meet Pant should avoid, as there are chances of infection. There should be no VIP movement to meet Pant, and people visiting him should avoid it as there are chances of infection for Pant,” said Shyam Sharma.

“He is stable and recovering well. Our BCCI doctors are in touch with the doctors here. Jay Shah is monitoring it. As of now, he’ll remain admitted here. He told me that he tried to save (his car) from a pothole (when the accident occurred),” he added.

Concerns for India

Rishabh Pant has been an inseparable part of the team since 2018. The left-handed batter has a surprise element in him as he can change the course of the match in a couple of overs time. Rishabh Pant would be badly missed in Border Gavaskar trophy as he has got some staggering numbers against the mighty Aussies.

Rishabh is the only left-handed batter present in the team as finding a like-for-like replacement of his calibre would be quite tough for the new selection panel.  It would be interesting to see whether India goes back and recall Saha as the right-handed batter is immensely experienced.
