Twitter Reacts As Suryakumar Yadav’s Heroics Help India Crush Sri Lanka In Rajkot T20I To Seal The Series

The series decider clash of the three-match T20I series between the Hardik Pandya-led India National Cricket Team and the Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka National Cricket Team was held at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Saturday, January 7.

India National Cricket Team continued their dominance at home and defeated Sri Lanka National Cricket Team by 91 runs in the third T20I to seal the series victory 2-1. Notably, India won the nail-biting series opener by 2 runs and Sri Lanka won the thrilling second game by 16 runs. This was India’s 12th consecutive T20I series win at home and the last time the Men In Blue lost a bilateral T20I series at home was in 2019 when Australia beat them 2-0.

Earlier, India National Cricket Team won the toss, elected to bat first in the match and made no changes to the playing XI. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, dropped Bhanuka Rajapaksa after his string of poor performances and replaced him with Avishka Fernando in the playing XI.

Dilshan Madushanka opened the attack for Sri Lanka and provided his side with a breakthrough in the first over itself by dismissing Ishan Kishan for 1. Kasun Rajitha bowled two good overs in the powerplay, with one being a maiden over and in the remaining three overs Tripathi and Gill fired and registered 12, 14 and 15 runs together.

Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda got out cheaply as they contributed just 4 runs each. However, the World No.1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav stood strong on one end and Axar Patel provided him with great support.
