Leeds could keep ahold of Tyler Adams

[ad_1]

Leeds United have been handed some relatively positive news regarding interest in one of their star players…

What’s the latest?

That’s according to Gazetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who note that Inter Milan are showing fresh interest in Tyler Adams.

Should Leeds sell Tyler Adams for big money?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, given that he was only signed in the summer and continues to impress for club and country, the report states that a deal is unlikely to be made due to the expected high fee.

It would need a ‘small opening’ to force the Italians’ interest, but that is something that Victor Orta is unlikely to let happen anytime soon.

Manchester United had shown their interest too of late, but this update only supports an earlier report that dismisses their interest.

Orta masterclass

It seems that in the summer the Whites were forced to lose their star men, with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha both leaving for greener pastures in Manchester City and Barcelona respectively.

Were they able to help it, Jesse Marsch would likely have done everything in his power to prevent the sales, but it seemed the fees were too good, and their bargaining position was not one of strength.

With Adams however, it feels like things are slightly different.

Having invested heavily in the summer in him and six others at a total cost of £89m, it is clear that this marked the beginning of a new project at Elland Road.

The American midfielder has already announced himself as central to that vision, with his “relentless” defensive work – as lauded by Sam Stejskal – in the engine room becoming integral to the way Leeds play.

Question 1. After starring for England at the 2002 World Cup, how much did Leeds sell Rio Ferdinand to Manchester United for?

He has averaged 4.0 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game in the Premier League, which he maintained in the World Cup before his side’s exit.

Boasting an average rating of 7.10 in the competition, the £57k-per-week star left the tournament with a lengthy list of admirers given how he translated his domestic success onto the biggest stage.

He became an “engine” for both club and country, with Statman Dave praising him with such a label earlier in the season.

Keeping hold of their prized assets is imperative if they are to remain in the top flight, and as such continuing to ward off his suitors would mark another Orta masterclass to exorcise the demons of last summer.
