Leeds must sign Ismaila Sarr

[ad_1]

The January transfer window is just around the corner and Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch may already be thinking about who he would like to bring in to bolster his squad.

It offers the head coach an opportunity to improve his side ahead of the second half of the campaign as they attempt to avoid relegation down to the Championship.

The Whites are currently 15th in the Premier League table and two points above the drop zone, although they do have one game in hand on the teams below them.

Their position in the division indicates that they have a fight on their hands heading into 2023 and bringing in a couple of fresh additions could improve their chances of staying up, if they can bring the right ones in.

One signing from the summer who has yet to his stride is winger Luis Sinisterra. The attacker has averaged a Sofascore rating of 6.66 and produced two goals and zero assists in nine Premier League appearances.

Leeds could now land an immediate upgrade on the 23-year-old by swooping to sign Senegal international Ismaila Sarr from Championship side Watford.

Journalist Santi Aouna claimed that the club had a “real interest” in the forward during the summer window and they must now reignite that fire to snap him up in January.

Aston Villa agreed a £25m deal to sign the wizard ahead of the 2022/23 campaign before a deal fell through and Victor Orta must now swoop in at that price to improve Marsch’s side next month.

Sarr represented his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and caught the eye with a string of impressive displays. He averaged a Sofascore rating of 7.10 across four appearances as he scored one goal, completed nine dribbles, and created six chances for his teammates.

Question 1. After starring for England at the 2002 World Cup, how much did Leeds sell Rio Ferdinand to Manchester United for?

Sky Sports, via Football Daily, revealed that Sarr, as of the 8th of December, has clocked a high speed of 21.93 mph, which is higher than Kylian Mbappe’s 21.87 – making him faster than the Paris Saint-Germain superstar.

He has also scored six goals and provided four assists, whilst averaging a Sofascore rating of 6.95, in 17 Championship outings for the Hornets this season, which shows that he has been on fire for club and country.

Sinisterra has created 0.4 chances per game in the Premier League, after Sarr managed 1.0 per match in the top-flight last term, and has not shown enough in the first half of the season to suggest that he is the man to save Leeds from relegation in the coming months.

Therefore, the Whites must swoop to sign the rapid Watford gem, who Ben Foster once described as a “freak of a talent“, as his statistics indicate that he could be a big upgrade on the former Feyenoord man with his average level of performance and his ability to score and assist goals.
