Watch Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney react to Wrexham’s promotion

They’ve actually done it.

Almost three years after buying fifth tier English football club Wrexham AFC, actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have watched their team get promoted to the Football League. And Paul Rudd, of all people, was there to capture the moment it happened.

Wrexham was already top of the table going in to the game against Boreham Wood on Saturday, but needed a win in order to secure a big enough lead over main rivals Notts County. The video above was filmed by Rudd, who accompanied Reynolds and McElhenney to the game. It captures the moment the final whistle is blown on Wrexham’s 3-1 victory.

The next series of Welcome to Wrexham, the documentary that follows Reynolds and McElhenney’s takeover of the club, is certainly going to be a memorable one.
